The Sea Ranch

Gualala

Gualala os located on the Southern Mendocino Coast, an expanse of rugged coastline, where majestic redwoods, sunny open hillsides and dramatic ocean vistas enliven the senses.

Irish Beach

    Irish Beach is a charming coastal community which is just a few miles North of Mancehster. The community has about 250 home sites. Over the past 30 years about 60% of the sites have had custom homes built but there are still some lots available. The community has private beach access to a 6 mile long sandy beach.

Point Arena

    Point Arena was a bustling lumber and whaling port. Punta Arena, which means "sand port" in Spanish was one of the most active ports on the Mendocino Coast. 1879 records show that 2,300 tons of merchandise were shipped from the wharf. The town looks much the way it did in the early 1900's. Scenic farmland surrounds the city today, a large dairy is just to the North and cows and sheep are seen grazing as one travels along Highway One.

2007 Year in Review

Yearly Real Estate Update 2007

The year 2007 proved to be very similar to 2006 and in the end although it felt like sales were very slow, we ended by with only 18% fewer sales, mostly in the Gualala and Irish Beach areas.  The Sea Ranch held stable and Timber Cove was way up.  The coast properties seem fairly isolated from the effects of the recent financial crisis and concerns over housing and we are anticipating a fairly good year for sales with prices holding and perhaps even modest appreciation.

Lot and Land sales were and still very slow although escrows were picking up towards the end of the year!

MARKET UPDATE FOR 1/1/2008

Real estate on the coast for the month of December stayed steady with 7 homes going into escrow and 5 sales closing in spite of the holidays and all the other distractions with the end of the year. Looking back at 2007, house sales were off about 22% from 2006 and land sales stayed equal to 2006 but that number is about 30% below normal yearly sales.  We are looking for a better 2008, we have a limited commodity in homes and vacant land, that is unbelieveably special.  I hope you will be one of the lucky ones to see for yourself what a wonderful place this section of the coast is!
