The Sea Ranch

Gualala

Irish Beach

    Irish Beach is a charming coastal community which is just a few miles North of Mancehster. The community has about 250 home sites. Over the past 30 years about 60% of the sites have had custom homes built but there are still some lots available. The community has private beach access to a 6 mile long sandy beach.

Point Arena

    Point Arena was a bustling lumber and whaling port. Punta Arena, which means "sand port" in Spanish was one of the most active ports on the Mendocino Coast. 1879 records show that 2,300 tons of merchandise were shipped from the wharf. The town looks much the way it did in the early 1900's. Scenic farmland surrounds the city today, a large dairy is just to the North and cows and sheep are seen grazing as one travels along Highway One.

Kayaking on The Gualala River

One of the fun things to do when you are in The Sea Ranch or Gualala area is to kayak on the river.  There is a local rental agency if you don't have your own!  Summertime kayaking is gentle and calm when the river is low and the mouth is closed to the ocean.  Floating serenely between the banks of the river with towering redwoods on either side is a wonderful way to experience the area.

MONTHLY MARKET UPDATE 10/01/2008

It is certainly no surprise that everyone's attention is turned to the econnomic crisis that this country is in and I do hope we find our way out of this mess soon!!  It is no wonder that real estate has been very slow with only 5 new escrows for the month of September and only 3 sales closed.  Like gold, perhaps real estate will once again be looked upon as the good sound investment it has historically been and not just a "quick flip" investment trend.

Home Sales: The Sea Ranch (3) $520,000 - $1,300,000.

Home Pendings: Annapolis (1) $329,000, Anchor Bay (1) $459,000, Gualala (3) $208,050 - $375,000.
