The Sea Ranch

Gualala

Irish Beach

    Irish Beach is a charming coastal community which is just a few miles North of Mancehster. The community has about 250 home sites. Over the past 30 years about 60% of the sites have had custom homes built but there are still some lots available. The community has private beach access to a 6 mile long sandy beach.

Point Arena

    Point Arena was a bustling lumber and whaling port. Punta Arena, which means "sand port" in Spanish was one of the most active ports on the Mendocino Coast. 1879 records show that 2,300 tons of merchandise were shipped from the wharf. The town looks much the way it did in the early 1900's. Scenic farmland surrounds the city today, a large dairy is just to the North and cows and sheep are seen grazing as one travels along Highway One.

Season's Greetings From Gualala/The Sea Ranch

As I write this a series of storms are coming down the coast from Alaska bringing beautiful winter scenes with it.  While we love the summer and life on the beach, it is always breathtaking to witness some of the beauty amongst the powerful forces of nature in the form of winter storms.  Gives a moment of pause and thankfulness for the wonders of this world.

MONTHLY MARKET UPDATE 12/01/2008

Good news on interest rates!! Hopefully that will start to translate into buyers buying more properties.  These are strange times to be sure!  There were lots of visitors in town over the Thanksgiving holidays and many were looking at homes on the market while here, but so far that hasn't resulted in a bunch of new escrows.  Closed sales were way down this month, a result from the financial turmoil that struck in October.  At this point we are in a "wait and see" pattern.
