Gualala

Gualala os located on the Southern Mendocino Coast, an expanse of rugged coastline, where majestic redwoods, sunny open hillsides and dramatic ocean vistas enliven the senses.

Irish Beach

    Irish Beach is a charming coastal community which is just a few miles North of Mancehster. The community has about 250 home sites. Over the past 30 years about 60% of the sites have had custom homes built but there are still some lots available. The community has private beach access to a 6 mile long sandy beach.

Point Arena

    Point Arena was a bustling lumber and whaling port. Punta Arena, which means "sand port" in Spanish was one of the most active ports on the Mendocino Coast. 1879 records show that 2,300 tons of merchandise were shipped from the wharf. The town looks much the way it did in the early 1900's. Scenic farmland surrounds the city today, a large dairy is just to the North and cows and sheep are seen grazing as one travels along Highway One.

Art in the Redwoods August 19th - 22nd.

The 49th Annual Art in the RedwoodsFestival returns to the Gualala Art Center this next weekend.  Always well attended and a delightful art show, the name originates from the fact that some of the earliest shows were actually hung on redwood trees in the old "Uncle Charlie's Park".  Now the event is held in the beautiful Gualala Arts Center.  There is a "Kick-off" Dinner and Wine Tastingon Thursday evening (already sold out), and on Friday from 4 - 7 is the Champagne Preview with award presentations and the judge's critiques.  Saturday and Sunday in addition to the art show, will be filled with music, food, children's activities and the special events.

Interest Rates Go Lower

The Freddie Mac average 30-year fixed-rate slipped two more basis points to 4.54% for the week, the lowest rate on record. And the 2-year and 5-year Treasury notes were bid to their lowest levels ever this past week in their auctions.  Interest rates are at historic lows.

MONTHLY MARKET UPDATE 8/1/2010

New escrows shot up to 16!!!  With new listings down to 15 and new escrow at 16 we are finally seeing a DECREASE in inventory.  If this trends contines we may have seen the bottom that everyone seems to be waiting for, I hope so!!   New foreclosures were way down and this is also a good sign.
